A trip to nature: Independence Grove near Libertyville

It was a bright sunny afternoon when we went to the Independence Grove to take pictures of birds, flowers, trees, scenery and the sunset.

Tweet, tweet, chirp, chirp ... the birds are here

We moved from India to the U.S. in November 2012 because daddy was transferred. When we came here, we stayed in this really nice apartment, where I took pictures of birds and nature. There was a small wood near the apartment.

The view from the balcony of our apartment.

I saw this birdie in front of an old lady's house.

There was a small wood with lots of birds.

I was having fun with my camera in our neighborhood

I was taking pictures in my neighborhood, because spring has come, and everything was beautiful in this wide magical world!!!!

I was riding my bike when I saw this woodpecker. I tried to take a picture of the woodpecker, but this is what came out. Look closely, and you will see a little white and black and red thingy, which was supposed to be my subject.

The cherry blossom tree in our front yard.

Those sad drooping flowers ....

Awww ... the cute little chipmunk in the middle of the road.

Bandipur National Reserve Forest: my first camera, my first pictures

I started to take pictures because I got my very own first camera. I was 7 years old when I took these  pictures in Bandipur National Reserve forest. Daddy got his new camera and he thought that I could take good pictures, so he gave me his old camera. I don't remember much about what I was thinking, just that I was excited to have my own camera.

The camera was a really old one -- at least six years old. It was a SONY 4 MP fixed focus camera. Even mobile phones have better cameras nowadays.

These were the first pictures that I took on this road trip. According to my dad, they turned out quite good. I  remember that I wasn't very happy with the zoom function of this camera, since I saw daddy taking nice close-ups of animals with his camera, which I couldn't.
